Do you accept my insurance?

We accept NC Medicaid plans (Medicaid Direct, WellCare, Carolina Complete, United Healthcare Community Plan, Amerihealth, and Healthy Blue).  Children with a Medicaid approved vision plan are eligible for a comprehensive eye examination and new glasses at no cost every year.  Adults are eligible for a comprehensive eye examination and new glasses every other year with a small copay.  If you have a medical eye problem that needs to be evaluated you don't have to wait until you are eligible for a routine exam to be seen.

What if you do not accept my insurance?

We offer an affordable "Friends and Family" self-pay rate for comprehensive eye exams, glasses, contact lens evaluations, and medical visits.

Does NC Medicaid cover contact lenses?

​

Unfortunately, NC Medicaid does not cover the cost of a contact lens evaluation or materials.  However, we offer an affordable contact lens evaluation rate, and you will receive a copy of your contact lens prescription following the completion of the evaluation.  Dr. Treece will make sure that you receive prescription contact lenses that are clear, comfortable, and safe for your eyes.  First time contact lens wearer?  No problem!  Our team will train you on proper insertion and removal technique, handling, and care for your contacts.

Does NC Medicaid replace broken eyeglasses?

Unfortunately, NC Medicaid does not cover the cost of replacement eyeglasses.  Our team is able to make simple repairs to glasses, but sometimes a repair is impossible.  Fortunately, we offer affordable replacement glasses in our office.

Can I be seen for a medical eye exam?

​

NC Medicaid covers medical eye examinations with a small copay for things like pink eye, dry eye syndrome, eye injuries, and more.  We also offer an affordable self-pay rate for medical eye examinations.  Same day appointments are available in most cases.

Do you sell glasses?

​

Yes!  We have a large selection of affordable glasses, and the best part is that any frame in the office is FREE with the purchase of a pair of lenses.  We offer lens options that include shatter resistance,  thin lenses, anti-glare, blue light filtering, Transitions, tints, and polarization.

Do you sell contact lenses?

​

Yes!  We are able to order most common contact lens brands with a valid prescription from our office or elsewhere.  We will even send you reminders when it's time to reorder!
